ShadeMagic is an easy-to-use pattern generator that lets you create unlimited, attractive image with color gradient. Its single-paneled, intuitive graphical user interface allows you to easily set image parameters. Borders and up to 16 different text lines with individual properties can be added to an image. In addition to its basic function you can instantaneously fill text with a gradient pattern by cutting out the area where text overlaps an image, and can set the wallpaper on the Windows desktop to an image you have just created. A work of art can be sent to the clipboard, and saved in JPEG and Windows bitmap format. You can also save all image parameter settings as an SMP file to restore and modify the image later. ShadeMagic is a powerful tool to create cool material for your web pages. ShadeMagic works on Windows XP/NT/2000/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 Installing ShadeMagic 1. ActiveX controls has to be installed in advance. The installer for ActiveX controls can be downloaded from Tek Design's website. It is recommended to create a restore point of Windows just in case before installation. 2. Unzip the distributed file into an arbitrary folder. 3. Right-click on the icon of the executable file "ShadeMagic.exe" and select "Create shortcut" to create a shortcut on the desktop. Double-click on the icon and confirm that the program normally runs. Refer to 5. below to show the help. 4. The program should work typically with no problem. In some Windows environments, Visual Basic (VB) runtime driver "msvbvm50.dll" has to be copied, if not exists and as an administrator when prompted by Windows, to the following folder:

Windows 7 and later	-----	C:\Windows\SysWOW64
Windows Vista and earlier	-----	C:\Windows\System32

The VB runtime driver is included in the distributed ZIP package. 5. As the program contains the help files created in the old format with the extension "HLP", Windows Help program should be installed. See "How to Run Help Files" in our website for further details. Uninstalling ShadeMagic 1) Remove the folder together with all the files where ShadeMagic was installed. 2) Launch Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, choose "vb5ocx" and click "Uninstall". Free Registration ShadeMagic was originally distributed as shareware, and turned into freeware later. In order to receive a password to unlock the trial version limitation for free, send your arbitrary ID (10 alphanumeric characters or less) from "Contact us" page in Tek Design's website. Click the About ShadeMagic button on the toolbar and choose Register to display Register ShadeMagic dialog box, where you enter your ID and the password exactly, and click on the OK button.
